CSE, Inc. removed the Oak Ridge Bridge, a fixture in Nelson County since 1882, so that a modern bridge could be installed. Utilizing two cranes, our team lifted and removed this historic Pratt through truss bridge, once a pivotal railroad and then highway bridge. This removal marks the end of an era for a structure that has been a vital part of the Oak Ridge historic district for over a century. At the historic Georgia-Pacific Big Island Mill—the oldest business in Bedford County—CSE, Inc. provided precision rigging support for the removal and replacement of a 3,500-pound HVAC unit by helicopter.

With speed, precision, and the help of two cranes, CSE, Inc. executed the removal and replacement of a crucial pipe system at Hershey’s candy manufacturing plant in the Shenandoah Valley. This system is key for transporting granulated sugar directly into the production line, ensuring a seamless flow of raw materials. With precision, one crane lifted our specialists in a man basket for intricate work, while the other managed the heavy lifting of the pipes from their complex positions around the silos.

Our skilled team used our crane to set new pumps and pipes at the site of the College Lake Dam, helping to resolve flooding risks. This work is part of the College Lake Dam Removal Project by the City of Lynchburg and the University of Lynchburg. Their vision is to remove the high-hazard dam and restore the resulting lakebed to a thriving environment where Blackwater Creek can re-emerge after more than eight decades.
